Since November 2019 we have been working with KiwiHarvest to provide a registration solution for their premises.
KiwiHarvest collects quality surplus fresh food from food growers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retail food businesses.
This looks like 400kg of kiwifruit from Zespri, 200,000 pots of honey or over a million serves of breakfast food from Sanitarium.
100% of the food rescued is distributed, free of charge, to community groups and social service agencies, and shared with people in need.
It’s a big operation run from a small warehouse in Auckland’s Highbrook Park.
KiwiHarvest are using one of the retired MSi screens to register visitors, contractors and volunteers, display health and safety information and print ID labels.
“This software is imperative for keeping track of who’s visiting or volunteering at KiwiHarvest each day but it has been crucial since the start of Covid-19 in helping us maintain a clear contract tracing record,” says Madi Walter from KiwiHarvest.
It’s a step up from the clipboard they were using before and is easy enough for everyone to use and means they don’t have to struggle to read people’s handwriting.
The next step in our relationship is to provide another system for KiwiHarvest’s sister company – the NZ Food Network. Watch this space!
